Professor Profili graduated from Edgewood High School and is a lifelong resident of Harford County. She played lacrosse as a student at the University of Maryland, College Park, and also completed a study abroad at the University of London, England. She then worked as a legislative liaison for the Maryland House of Delegates in Annapolis.

After earning her J.D., Professor Profili clerked in the Circuit Court of Maryland in Harford County. She then practiced as an associate with the general practice law firm of John E. Kelly, P.A., in Bel Air. In 1997 she opened her own law firm, specializing in administrative law and operating a title company. Ms. Profili began teaching part-time at Harford Community College in 1997 in both the business and paralegal programs; she assumed a full-time position in 2008. Professor Profili also taught the trial advocacy program at Widener School of Law and the Junior Achievement program at St. Stephen School in Kingsville. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Harford County Bar Association, Federal Bar, and American Association for Paralegal Educators.
