Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea
of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting - even shouting,
laughing, hooting, and hollering - are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class.
Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness
disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging,
water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of
all, exhilarating beyond belief.
Aqua Zumba uses mostly Latin music rhythms such as Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa,
and Reggaeton, but can also use a variety of upbeat tempos as found in
international music. Because of the resistance of the water, Zumba movements will be slower and adjusted to the water environment; however, the workout can be just as intense.
Water shoes are needed for this class.
This class is for those who want to swim laps at flexible times throughout the week. Once registered, students will need to get a Flex Swim HCC ID which will allow them access to the pool during all recreation open swim hours.

Students must be 16 years old by last day of class and will be required to present proof of age with a photo ID. on the first day of class. Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive a pool operator's license certificate recognized by the Maryland State Health Department and the Harford County Health Department. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply.
Swimmers will get conditioned for their upcoming season while also working on stroke mechanics. Instructors will train the swimmers while pointing out technical flaws with the hopes of improving each stroke. Starts and turns will be worked on as well. All swimmers must be able to swim competently as this is not swim lessons
Water aerobics is a pleasurable experience. These aerobic exercises are designed for water and they provide benefits such as body toning, muscle flexibility, and improvement to the cardiovascular system. Besides, it's not only healthy, it's fun!!!
