THE OPPORTUNITY: HCC is seeking a customer service-oriented individual to provide support in the College's Test Center.  Duties include, but are not limited to, daily preparation of computerized testing; checking in examinees; administering and proctoring computerized and paper tests, quizzes, and exams; maintaining test security; answering telephone inquiries; using the computer for data entry and information retrieval; maintaining files and records; and troubleshooting minor computer problems. 

Work schedule is up to 20 hours per week, with hours assigned between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Fridays; and 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays.  Hours during the summer and between semesters may be reduced.
REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree and/or educational testing experience preferred.  Customer service experience, proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment, and experience working with a diverse population are required.  Demonstrated technical knowledge, skills, and experience preferred.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. 

Applicants selected for interview are required to take a brief test of Microsoft Office programs and Internet proficiency.  Applicants must have flexibility in scheduling. The Testing Assistant may not be a student at any institution that offers ACCUPLACER tests, including Harford Community College, as it creates a conflict of interest and prevents completion of some job duties. 

Any offer of employment at Harford Community College is contingent upon the results of a mandatory background screening.  Employees must submit within 30 days of hire official transcripts of all degrees earned.
