Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the director provides leadership and direction to a team of engineers and specialists responsible for data and voice infrastructure, internet services, server management, data center management, and telecommunication servers on the College campus and off-site locations. 

Duties include, but are not limited to, managing the domain infrastructure and network infrastructure--wired and wireless--of the College; developing and implementing procedures and protocols for installing, implementing, and administering systems infrastructure to support technology initiatives; performing capacity planning; analyzing server and service data and statistics; managing technology team projects; and performing other duties as assigned.  The director serves as a member of the technology leadership team and contributes to the strategic, tactical, and operational plans and initiatives of Computer and Technology Services.

This is an exempt, professional staff position. 


A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information management, management information systems, or related information technology field; active Cisco or Microsoft certification; and five to seven years of progressive experience in IT, including supervising and scheduling projects, are required.  A master's degree is preferred.  Equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience may be considered.

Applicants must have demonstrated ability to perform procedures to address network security issues and concerns; supervisory experience; experience using Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls; experience managing a data center with at least 50 physical and virtual servers; experience in the administration of logical network infrastructure using Microsoft Active Directory 2008 R2, including group policy objects; knowledge of virtualization and server consolidation; and knowledge and troubleshooting skills in e-mail, file servers, and domain administration such as DNS, WINS, DHCP, IIS, proxy, and anti-virus.
