Fitness Center Lead Assistant

(Part-time - Hired As-needed)
Starting Hourly Rate Range:  $11.20 - $12.88

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Fitness Center Lead Assistant opens and closes the fitness center during Open Recreation hours; fields questions regarding fitness center activities; maintains a safe, clean and welcoming environment by enforcing safety policies and rules of etiquette; assists the Fitness Center Manager with special projects; alerts Fitness Center staff of any equipment safety or maintenance issues; and performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

The work schedule is up to 9.5 hours per week, to include weekday mornings from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. and/or evenings from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.  Saturday hours may be required. 

REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or GED; CPR/AED certification, and lifeguard, fitness and/or personal training certification are required.  Applicants must be proficient in MS Office.  Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a health and/or fitness environment (lifeguard, commercial fitness center, group exercise instruction, etc.).

 Any offer of employment at Harford Community College is contingent upon the results of a mandatory background screening.  Employees must submit within 30 days of hire official transcripts of all degrees earned.
