The Programmer-Analyst provides research and analysis, prepares and submits state- and federally- mandated reports, and prepares institutional reports to support effective decision-making and operations of the College.  Duties include, but are not limited to, extracting and synthesizing data from the college ERP (Banner), creating and revising syntax using appropriate statistical software; analyzing data; writing and modifying SAS code to check data for logical errors; identifying data needs for on- and off-campus reporting requirements; collaborating with personnel on- and off-campus to assure accurate and timely reporting; determining needs and conducting appropriate research projects; supplying creating appropriate data visualizations for various presentations and reports; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.  The Programmer-Analyst is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of personnel and institutional data. 

This is an exempt, professional staff position.


A bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, social science, or a related field; SAS Base certification; and at least three years of experience with SAS/SQL programming are required.  A master's degree and/or SAS Advanced certification preferred. 

Applicants will be evaluated on the criteria including, but not limited to, experience in higher education research, SPSS in a work environment, IPEDS reporting, using Banner and/or Argos, writing and modifying SAS code, extracting data from an ERP, conducting institutional research, creating presentations for various audiences, creating and maintaining datasets, and creating and maintaining data warehouses.
