WHFC Operations Manager

Starting Salary Range:  $40,907 - $49,088

RESPONSIBILITIES: WHFC Radio 91.1 FM, a broadcast service of Harford of Community College, is seeking an operations manager to ensure full compliance with FCC rules and regulations in regard to public radio stations and assist the coordinator of WHFC in the day-to-day operations of the station.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting, training, and coaching student and volunteer staff; providing input on program decisions; underwriting sales and account servicing; on-air production and hosting; monitoring broadcast signal and related electronic trouble-shooting, and assisting with fund-raising activities.  The operations manager will participate in marketing and community outreach activities, and maintaining relationships with community leaders. 

This is an exempt, professional staff position.  In addition to a general weekday work schedule, the operations manager will be on-call at all times to support station operations. 

REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree and one to three years of relevant broadcasting experience are required.  Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of FCC regulations as they apply to non-commercial, educational FM broadcasting stations; be experienced in AudioVault radio automation software; have excellent communication, outreach and training skills; and have experience in a public radio environment.  The ability to monitor and troubleshoot broadcasting equipment, including carrying out adjustments and minor repairs as necessary, and flexibility in scheduling including unrestricted availability are required.
