The Student Development Specialist for
Advising, Career, and Transfer Services provides
career information, academic advising, and
transfer planning services to students in all majors, with
primary emphasis on providing outreach to international students. This position
responsible for advising a large cohort of currently enrolled
students, serving as a conduit for students to access other
academic support services, financial aid, and co-curricular
activities to support their success.
Duties include, but are not limited to,
advising students by appointment in face-to-face or online
environments; assisting students in
navigating and understanding college, including selecting a
major, degree and course requirements; using online resources
including Focus 2, O*Net, ARTSYS, the College catalog, and other
academic and career resources to provide student with up-to-date
and accurate information; documenting all student interactions
and maintaining appropriate paperwork; presenting at advising and
career related events; and performing other duties as assigned by

and/or community college experience; experience leading large
group presentations; and MBTI Qualified Administrator and/or
Global Career Development Facilitator Certification.
