RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Dining Services Technician II prepares food for catered events and meetings, and for College's cafés; performs dining room work including set-up and cleaning; delivers food throughout the campus and to the University Center; assists in training new employees and acts as shift leader; and operates applicable campus software systems.  Other duties maintaining cleanliness in all areas and abiding by health department rules and regulations; and performing cashiering and other duties as assigned.   

This is non-exempt staff position reporting to the General Manager for Dining Services.  Work schedule will vary according to the needs of the College, to include day, evening, and weekend hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or GED and two to three years of food preparation and service are required.  Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and flexibility in scheduling is also required.

Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to, experience cooking for large and small catered events, concessions, and café operations; experience in menu planning; experience in handling and delivering food supplies; knowledge of nutrition and food safety; experience training new employees and serving as a lead worker; and strong communication and customer service skills.  Knowledge of alcohol service is a plus. 

The successful candidate will be required to complete ServSafe Certification within the first year of employment.  Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time. 

A valid driver's license is required; employees must be 25 years of age or older to operate College vehicles.
