RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Dining Services Technician I prepares food for catered events and meetings, and for College's cafés; performs dining room work including set-up and cleaning; and performs routine dining room work; delivers food throughout the campus and to the University Center; prepares place settings; performs wait staff duties; and serves as a cashier as needed. Other duties include maintaining cleanliness in all areas; operating kitchen equipment; and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. 

This is non-exempt staff position reporting to the General Manager for Dining Services.  Work schedule will vary according to the needs of the College, to include day, evening, and weekend hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or GED is required; food preparation and service experience is preferred.  Proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and flexibility in scheduling are required.

Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to, experience cooking for large and small catered events, concessions, and café operations; experience in setting up and taking down catered events; experience operating kitchen equipment; knowledge of nutrition and food safety; and strong communication and customer service skills.  Knowledge of alcohol service is a plus. 

The successful candidate will be required to complete ServeSafe Certification within the first year of employment.  Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time. 

A valid driver's license is required; employees must be 25 years of age or older to operate College vehicles.
