(Part-time)

Starting Hourly Rate Range:  $9.82 - $11.29 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the WHFC managers in ensuring the station operates within FCC parameters and fulfills its Mission Statement.  The Assistant performs production, promotion, and fundraising activities; schedules on-air staff, assists in ensuring automated air shifts are properly prepared; assists in recruiting and training of student and community volunteers; previews music submissions; acts as a liaison with music labels; performs on-air shifts as required; and performs other duties as assigned by the station manager.

Work schedule is up to 20 hours per week, to include day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.   

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED, excellent computer and interpersonal skills required; some college or trade school preferred.  Candidates must have one to three years experience in a radio station or similar environment, and at least one year of experience working with and/or supervising volunteers and/or students.  Flexible schedule is a must. 

Candidates must be familiar with FCC rules and regulations as they pertain to non-commercial radio; must be able to read, interpret, and follow a programming log;  monitor a broadcasting transmitter and make adjustments as necessary; operate a radio control board and related equipment, and have some experience with AudioVault, PSI-Net or similar radio automation software.
