Aberdeen High School Alumni Association Scholarship
The Aberdeen High School Alumni Association offers a $500 annual scholarship to recent (3 years) graduates of Aberdeen High School. This scholarship may be used for tuition and fees and is valid for all areas of study with the exception of Nursing.

Aberdeen Lioness Lions Club Scholarship
The Aberdeen Lioness Lions Club awards a scholarship to help students who are seeking a career change or are trying to reenter the workforce. The annual award is $1,000 for a full-time student and $500 for a part-time student.

Aberdeen Lions Charities, Inc. Scholarship
Aberdeen Lions Charities, Inc. in conjunction with the Aberdeen Lions Club awards one annual scholarship to a student who resides in Aberdeen and is a graduate of Aberdeen High School. To reflect the Lions motto of “We Serve,” students should explain their volunteer/community service activities in the application narrative.

Adam Thompson Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Established by Roy and Pat Thompson (an HCC Nursing graduate), in loving memory of their son, Adam Thompson. Adam was a graduate of North Harford High School and a student at HCC at the time of his passing. Based on funds available, this scholarship is designated for a first-year student who has been accepted into the HCC Nursing program in the fall. The recipient will receive the scholarship for their second year in the nursing program, provided they continue to meet the scholarship criteria.

AFCEA Cyber Defense Certificate Scholarship
The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Aberdeen Chapter, seeks to recognize one deserving student on an annual basis for a full, needs based scholarship who plans to pursue and complete the 1 year, Cyber Defense Certificate (39 credits). This scholarship is a one-time award up to $8,000 to cover the cost of tuition, books and any associated fees to complete the Cyber Defense Certificate. The scholarship funds will be placed in the student's HCC account to be drawn upon during the year to pay for all uncovered, eligible expenses (note: if the awardee receives other forms of financial aid for this certificate program, the amount of this scholarship will be reduced by that amount, but still provide enough funds to cover all required expenses). Applicants must be outstanding, well-rounded students with documented financial need who plan to complete the certificate within the programs 1-year time frame. The student selected for this scholarship will be notified of their selection in advance of the start of the certificate program and be invited to an AFCEA-Aberdeen Chapter event to be recognized for their award. The name and photographs of the scholarship recipient will be provided to local papers, websites and the national AFCEA publication, "Signal" Magazine.

Alena & David M. Schwaber Nursing Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded in both the fall and spring semesters providing for tuition, fees, supplies, materials, books uniforms, other related program costs and personal expenses. Final selection will be made by the Nursing Scholarship Committee. Applicants must apply separately for the fall and spring semesters. Application deadline is May 15 for fall semester and November 15 for spring semester.

Alicia Castillo Taylor Memorial Scholarship
The Alicia Castillo Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund has been endowed by Westway Feed Products and Man Liquid Products, in memory of Alicia and will be awarded to students exhibiting a financial need and are deserving Harford Community College students. This award is intended to help students realize their dream of a higher education in the field of Business. While this scholarship is primarily intended to support tuition costs, it may be used for other necessary academic expenses. First preference is given to female students who best exemplify the spirit and qualities of Alicia: individuals who are vivacious, love life, and are interested in pursuing a career in Business. One or more awards will be made annually for approximately $2,000; smaller awards may also be made. The award is intended to help support students that receive financial aid and demonstrate financial need. Applications will be reviewed by and recommendations for recipient selection will be made by Westway Feed Products. Eligible students will be asked to submit a narrative/essay that describes their academic and professional goals, financial need, how the scholarship will help them attain their goals, and a list of recent volunteer/community service activities.

Alpha Delta Kappa (CHI Chapter) Education Scholarship
The Maryland CHI Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa awards a $250 book scholarship in the fall of each academic year. The grant should be awarded to a female in the education field. Recipient is requested to meet with several members of the Chi Chapter Organization for a photo opportunity on the HCC campus during the fall semester.

Alumni & Friends Association Endowment
The Harford Community College Alumni & Friends Association will award three scholarships for part-time students and three scholarships for full-time students annually. Award amounts are based on availability of funds. Recipients are required to attend one Alumni & Friends Association meeting. The meeting schedule is posted at www.harford.edu/alumni.

American Association of University Women Scholarship
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) awards at least one $500 book scholarship annually to students who are seeking a career change or reentering the workforce. Narrative will be rated on the following: how well topics are addressed (need, future goals, how grants and/or scholarships will help one attain goals, recent volunteer or community service, and reason for re-entering the workforce or making a career change) as well as grammar and mechanics. Final selection is made by the AAUW Scholarship Committee.

Anna & James Lambdin Nursing Scholarship
James Lambdin, former Vice Chairman and long time member of the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health System Board of Directors (since 1995) and his wife, Anna, an HCC graduate, have been major advocates for the support of the finest health care available to Harford and Cecil County communities. Mr. Lambdin also serves on the HCC Foundation Board of Directors. Based on funds available, this scholarship is awarded to an HCC student enrolled in the Nursing program of study. The recipient may use the funds for tuition, fees, books, supplies, uniforms and equipment. Final selection will be made by the Nursing Scholarship Committee.

Art + Design Ceramics Project Grant
The Ceramics Project Grant is intended to support development of new ideas, experimentation, or a new body of work in ceramics. A narrative describing the intended project, how it is a departure from the applicant's previous work, the requested grant amount, and how the grant will be used to support the project is required. Completion of ART 220 or equivalent is required. Recipient must be enrolled in a Ceramics credit course. A committee of faculty and staff in the Ceramics area will select grant recipients. The grant will be awarded each fall and spring semester based on fund availability. APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CERAMICS STUDIO.
Application deadline is October 1 for fall and February 15 for spring semester.

Art + Design Supply Award
Based on funds available, student recipients receive up to $500 to purchase art supplies. Applicant must be a current matriculated art and design major and must complete a one-page essay (max. 500 words) describing their financial need and how the supply scholarship will benefit their art and/or design at Harford Community College.

Arthur S. Lambert Memorial Endowment
The Arthur S. Lambert Memorial Endowment was established in honor of Mr. Lambert by his family and friends. He was in the music industry for over 60 years and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Awards are made based on fund availability. Applicant must be taking at least 3 credits. Final recipient is selected by the donor.

Ashley Marie Bolgiano Memorial Scholarship
Established by family and friends in loving memory of Ashley Marie Bolgiano, this scholarship works to keep Ashley's loving and caring ways alive by assisting HCC students in reaching their goals at the school she attended at time of her passing. Despite having Type I Diabetes since age 7, Ashley never complained. She pushed forward and never gave up; even with the odds against her, she kept fighting. This $1,000 annual scholarship is intended to give a student in need of an opportunity to succeed here at HCC, to complete the path Ashley was on when Type I Diabetes took her from this world. A 300-500 word essay is required explaining who the student is, a little bit about the student's background, and his/her future career goals. Preference given to those affected by Type I Diabetes.

Athena Leadership Scholarship
The ATHENA award is given to community members who have proven to be exemplary leaders; they have achieved excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession; served the community to improve the quality of life for others; and most importantly, actively assisted women to achieve their full leadership potential. This $1,000 annual award is offered to students who exemplify those same characteristics. The hope is that the funds will assist students to achieve their full leadership potential and give them the opportunity and motivation to become future leaders in Harford County. Applicants must be pursuing a major in Business. First preference is given to a female adult returning to college who exemplifies professionalism and commitment to the community.

Athena Macris DeFabo Memorial Book Endowment
Family, friends and colleagues of Dr. Athena (Nana) Macris DeFabo, HCC Professor of History, established this endowed scholarship in her memory. Based on fund availability, one to two $250 - $500 book scholarships will be awarded each year. The student must be an Alfred C. O'Connell Scholarship recipient.

This endowed scholarship was established in the memory of B. Tate Hibschman by his father William F. Hibschman, a retired Harford Community College biology professor. Based on the availability of funds, this scholarship provides full tuition and required fees for one year.

Battelle Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship
Battelle sponsors two $2,500 annual tuition and fees scholarships for qualifying students who are seeking degrees in the areas of science, engineering or mathematics. Qualified applicants will be invited to answer questions in front of the Battelle Scholarship Committee. The Battelle Scholarship Committee will select two deserving candidates based on grades, the essay and the board appearance. An essay of no more than 1000 words is required telling the Committee about yourself and about the topic "What am I going to do in the world of Science, Engineering, or Mathematics?" Recipient is required to follow Battelle's Facebook company page before and after the scholarship application.

Bel Air Lions Club Scholarship
The Bel Air Lions Club funds one $3,000 annual scholarship covering tuition and fees. Applicants may be interviewed for final selection by the Bel Air Lions Club.

Bel Air New Car Dealers Association Endowment
The Bel Air New Car Dealers Association, Inc. established this endowed scholarship in 1997. Based on funds available, one scholarship for tuition, fees and textbooks will be made available to a highly motivated student. The recipient will receive the scholarship for four semesters or until full-time enrollment is discontinued.

The Bel Air Rotary Club Foundation awards two $1,000 awards annually. The donor requires that the recipient attend a Bel Air Rotary Club meeting and submit a written thank you note to the organization.

Blanche Fletcher Memorial Scholarship
The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College established a scholarship in memory of Blanche Fletcher in recognition of her devoted service to the College. The scholarship covers tuition and fees for one academic year. The student must have completed at least 30 credits at HCC.

Brent Crothers Fine Art Creativity Enhancement Grant
To honor Brent’s memory as an artist, the family established a grant at Harford Community College where he took his first art classes. The Brent Crother’s Fine Art Creativity Enhancement Grant will award two HCC students $500 each to a Fine Art student to help bring a creative idea into physical form. The applicant(s) must provide a written description of the project and an estimated budget or the cost of materials needed.

Bridget O'Leary Memorial Scholarship
One $1,000 scholarship in memory of Bridget O'Leary, a wonderful Irish woman who positively impacted her family, will be awarded annually.

Bruce Hart Memorial Scholarship
This $2,000 annual scholarship is awarded to one male and one female Lacrosse Player in their second year. The scholarship was established in memory of Bruce Hart. Bruce Hart was a lifelong advocate and leader in the Harford County community. He coached lacrosse, football, wrestling and boy's volleyball and amassed a 89.91% winning percentage. His teams won three Harford County lacrosse championships, two Baltimore County lacrosse championships, one district/regional lacrosse championship and two Harford County boys volleyball championships. He was selected as "Coach of the Year" two times and "Man of the Year" once by the United States Lacrosse Association and the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Association. He served 18 years in the Army National Guard and retired as Lieutenant Colonel Brevet when he was injured in an automobile accident in January of 1984, which left him a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down. He never allowed this injury to stop him. He continued as head coach of Edgewood High School JV Boys Lacrosse and then moved on to defensive coach at Harford Community College. He was goalie coach at Harford Lacrosse camp for over 30 years. Bruce Hart served on many boards and committees for the betterment of education, accessibility issues and the disabled community. He believed in helping others reach their full potential through higher education and the game of lacrosse.

Based on fund availability, this endowed scholarship is awarded each year in memory of Carol Lynn Potter Helmkamp, a former HCC Interior Design faculty member. A 100-word goal statement is required.

This endowed memorial fund was established through a bequest to honor the memories of both Harford County men and to provide scholarships for needy students. Several awards are made each academic year, and award amounts vary according to enrollment status. The scholarship is renewable for a second semester if the student continues to meet the established criteria.

The Chesapeake Professional Women's Network sponsors two annual $1,000 scholarships for adults returning to college who exemplify professionalism and commitment to the community.

Cindy Conroy Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2011 by administrative staff members at Harford Community College in memory of their beloved co-worker, Cindy Conroy. Cindy will be remembered not only for her infectious smile, her cheerful nature and her generosity, but also for her willingness to share her time and expertise with students and colleagues. Cindy devoted many years to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentoring program between Harford Community College and John Archer School and she was instrumental in establishing youth programs that are now in existence at HCC. This scholarship exemplifies her passion for education and children by providing funds for tuition and/or books. Preference will be given to students who may be utilizing Disability Support Services and those in the Education Curriculum. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded per year. If funds are available, a second $1,000 may be awarded. Final selection is made by the donor.

Colleen Blakeman Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2013 by her parents, this scholarship honors the memory of Colleen “Scooter” Blakeman. Colleen was happiest when attending school and being with other children her age. The award is intended to encourage those students who will one day teach or care for those with special needs. Preference is given to graduates of North Harford High School.

Comm. Found. of Harford County Ortiz Memorial Scholarship
The Community Foundation of Harford County established this nursing scholarship in memory of Captain Maria Ines Oritz, an Army nurse who volunteered to care for wounded soldiers and Iraqi children. She was the first Army nurse killed in combat since the Vietnam War. Based on funds available, this scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the HCC Nursing program to be used for tuition, fees and books, or supplies and equipment. Final selection is made by the HCC Nursing Scholarship Committee.

Deer Creek Watershed Assoc Environmental Science Schol
The Deer Creek Watershed Association offers a $1,000 scholarship to a first or second year student in the Environmental Science AS program at Harford Community College. Preference will be given to a resident of Harford County who intends to focus on environmental science, continue the major in a related curriculum at a four-year institution, and pursue a career in this field. Applicant must be a graduate of a high school in Harford or adjacent county.

Donald J. Waldon Memorial Scholarship
The Donald J. Waldon Memorial Scholarship, established by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., awards one two-year scholarship for full tuition, fees, and books. Applicants must submit a 250-word typed essay discussing career goals. Final selection will be made by the donor.

Dorothy Lowe (Kuhl) Memorial Nursing Scholarship
In loving memory of nurse Dorothy Lowe (Kuhl) and in honor of those healthcare workers that have responded selflessly during the 2020 pandemic, this scholarship provides an annual $1,000 award to a student enrolled in the Nursing AS program. The scholarship provides funds for tuition and/or supplies needed for successful completion of the program. Preference is given to a Harford County resident in financial need with a 3.0 cumulative GPA required. Final selection of this award to be made by the Nursing Scholarship Committee.

Dorothy Wade Loetell Nursing Scholarship
The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Harford Chapter #114 sponsors a nursing scholarship. One $500 award is made annually for the spring semester. The student with Confederate ancestry will receive preferred consideration. Final selection will be made by donor organization.

Dr. Clarence & Mary R. G. Tinsman Memorial Endowment
Bryan and Katherine Kelly established this endowment in loving memory of Dr. Clarence A. and Mary R. G. Tinsman. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually. First preference will be given to a Kelly Group employee or children or grandchildren of The Kelly Group employees. The final selection will be made by the donor.

Dr. Edward C. Kuhl Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This annual scholarship is established in loving memory of Dr. Edward C. Kuhl Jr. as a tribute to his dedicated service to HCC. Serving as HCC Dean of Students and Director of Personnel during his 22 year tenure (1964-1986), he was one of the original "pioneers" at Harford Junior College, now HCC, with the goal of granting access to quality, higher education within our community. Ed spent his career in the pursuit of improving education with a particular interest in the sciences.

Dr. Lehman W. Spry, Jr. DDS Memorial Scholarship
In memory of an HCC trustee, the Board established the Lehman W. Spry, Jr., DDS Scholarship. The Board will award one $900 HCC scholarship per semester to a full-time student and one $450 HCC scholarship per semester to a part-time student. Student must address intent to pursue a dental or medical science program in their narrative.

This annual scholarship provides $500 per year to one male and one female student enrolled in the first year of the HCC Nursing program. A 500-word essay detailing the reasons for enrolling in the Nursing program is required.

Dr. Percy Williams Scholarship
This award was initially established by HCC's Black Student Association in honor of Dr. Percy Williams. Two $1,000 scholarships to full-time students and two $500 scholarships to part-time students are offered. Graduating high school seniors planning to attend HCC and any currently enrolled students may apply.

Dr. Robert R. Blackburn Scholarship
The Robert R. Blackburn scholarship fund has been established to help a student begin or further his/her education in community health. Given the recent COVID 19 virus, there has never been a greater need to understand the many issues involved with community health. This scholarship will assist a student to do just that. Dr. Blackburn was a 25-year college professor of health and physical education. More importantly, Dr. Blackburn was a tremendous public health advocate, serving as chair of his local health board, then President of the North Carolina Board of Health for two years. The National Association of Local Boards of Health awarded him the Everett I. Hageman Award given to a board of health member who demonstrated outstanding leadership. He also volunteered for the American Heart Association for more than 40 years. The family and other donors to this scholarship hope that recipients of this scholarship will become community health champions.

Fallston Lions Club Scholarship
The Fallston Lions Club awards an annual $2,000 to students who graduated from Fallston High School. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA throughout the duration of the scholarship and engage in community service activities.

Frank Stacey Memorial Scholarship
The Vietnam Veterans of America, Harford County Chapter #588, funds one $500 scholarship to honor the memory of Frank Stacey. Preference will be given to a student who is a military veteran, child or grandchild of military veteran, but high financial need is the main criteria. Final selection is made by donor.

Freedom Federal Credit Union Scholarship
Since 1953 Freedom Federal Credit Union has taken great pride in its ever-expanding commitment to and support of the Harford County community. Freedom is offering an annual $2,000 scholarship for tuition, fees, and books to a deserving Harford Community College student. First preference will be given to a Freedom Federal Credit Union Member, Freedom Federal Credit Youth Club member and/or a family member of a Freedom Federal Credit Union member. Recipient must be a member of Freedom Federal for six months. The final selection will be made by the Freedom Federal Credit Union scholarship committee.

George S. & Frances M. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship
CW 3 (Ret) George S. and Frances M. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship has been established in their memory to assist 8 deserving students with a $1,500 annual scholarship award to meet their education goals. As life-long Harford County residents and growing up in the Depression era, George and Frances understood the need to provide a helping hand to others with service to their community and through military service to their country. These were guiding principles the Hopkins carried out throughout their lifetime. It is in this spirit that the scholarship recognizes others who exhibit George and Frances' commitment to each other, their community, education, and military service. First preference will be given to students who are active military or veterans. Provided the student continues to meet the scholarship criteria, the scholarship may be renewed for a second year.

Geraldine M. Liechty Memorial Endowment
Based on funds available, this endowed scholarship was established in the memory of Geraldine M. Liechty. It is awarded to students who have demonstrated good academic ability and character, and who have actively participated in extracurricular activities while in college. The funding for the scholarship is made possible through a bequest to the College by Esther A. Liechty in Geraldine M. Liechty's name. Geraldine Liechty was a very active Harford County citizen who contributed significantly to the American Association of University Women and other public service activities. The student must plan to enroll for a combined 18 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters. In addition, the student must have completed at least 26 credits at HCC prior to the semester for which the award is made and have at least 24 credits remaining in their program. To apply, students must submit a letter of application which contains a detailed statement describing why they should be considered and in what community service and/or extracurricular activities they have participated.

H. William Acker Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2012 by the Harford Community College Foundation Board of Directors as a tribute to H. William (Bill) Acker. Mr. Acker served on the HCC Foundation Board since its inception in 1989 and for many years served as the Secretary/Treasurer. First preference for the $500 annual award will be to those students with an affiliation or association to military, law enforcement, or health care providers. Student recipients need to be enrolled in the Accounting or Business programs of study.

Harford Artists' Scholarship
The Harford Artists' Association awards two $500 scholarships annually to second year students enrolled in the Art and Design Program. Awards may be applied to tuition, fees, and books. Portfolio submission to be reviewed by Art and Design faculty. Contact the Financial Aid Office for portfolio requirements. Recipient must attend one Harford Artists' Association meeting.

Harford Community College Honors Scholarship
Harford Community College supports merit scholarships for students who are enrolled in the Honors Program. Awards will contribute to the cost of an Honors Courst in the next semester. Students meeting the criteria will automatically be considered for this scholarship. The number of awards is based on funding availability. Must have earned the grade of "A" or "B" in the last completed HCC Honors Course(s). Students that have completed the Honors Program are not eligible to receive this award. There is no deadline for this scholarship.

The HCC Library has established several textbook scholarships, which consist of $400 awards, for HCC students. The awards are based on funds available. The recipient must have a valid Harford Community College library card.

Music scholarships are available directly through the College's Music Department. Scholarship amounts vary based upon audition with potential for full tuition and fees award. Special application forms are available from the HCC Music Department. Eligibility criteria differ from student to student. Applicants will be required to prepare two selections of contrasting styles for an audition not to exceed 10 minutes. The Harford Mutual Insurance Company provides an annual $2,500 scholarship in memory of Benjamin P. Tobin, a Harford Mutual employee of 17 years, who served as Vice President and General Counsel. Applicants must submit a 350-500 word essay addressing choice of business administration, marketing and/or accounting as a field of study and stating professional goals. Harry Brown Memorial Scholarship
The Harford Community College Behavioral and Social Sciences Faculty have established scholarship awards for HCC students who have completed at least 12 credit hours in college level courses at HCC (including at least one BSS course) at the time of the application. Each semester, $500 is awarded to a full-time student and $250 to a part-time student. The scholarships are one award per student per semester and are not renewable. The scholarship can be applied to the cost of course materials, including travel-study. A letter of recommendation is required from a Behavioral and Social Sciences faculty member. In addition, the applicant(s) must submit a 500-word essay explaining the reason(s) for declaring their major, academic and professional goals, and how they hope their education at HCC will help them attain their goals. Final selection will be made by the donor.

HCC Alfred C. O'Connell Honors Scholarship
The scholarship covers the cost of tuition and regular fees for two years at HCC. Twenty scholarships are available to high school level students. A 400-500 word essay on a designated topic at a specific time on the HCC campus is part of the application process. Special application forms are available in the HCC Financial Aid Office or in the high school guidance offices. Renewal each semester is contingent upon specific criteria as indicated on contract.

In loving memory of our daughter, Heather L. The Kerry Hochstein Memorial Scholarship was established in his memory. Kerry was a 1998 graduate of the Harford Leadership Academy and a longtime member of the HCC Foundation Board. Mr. Hochstein greatly admired the dedication and compassion of those in this profession, including his own daughter who cared for him at the end of his life. Kristine Q. Gilmour was a Mechanical Engineer, Field Hockey Coach and loving mother of three, that lost her battle with breast cancer at age 41 in January 2020. This scholarship is established by her husband, a Graduate of the nursing program here at HCC. This annual scholarship provides $1,000 for the first year nursing student.

This scholarship was established by the Reeds’ children and funded by them and memorial donations. Both Lois and Charlie Reed were supporters of all the arts. Charlie Reed was past chair of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees. Lois Reed was one of the founders of the Harford Artist Association. One annual scholarship is awarded based on availability of funds. The applications are reviewed by the Fine Art Department faculty.

LTC Eugene C. Chandler, a former president of the Harford County Board of Education and decorated member of the United States Army, was a tireless advocate for the importance of education and service to the community. MarketPoint, LLC funds a $1,000 annual marketing scholarship for a student pursuing a degree in marketing or Mass Communications (Advertising and Sales Promotion). Applicants are required to submit a 500-word narrative about the role of corporate social responsibility in business. In loving memory of Megan Elizabeth Boesch, who aspired to become a nurse, a $1,000 annual scholarship will be awarded. The scholarship is designated to a first-year student who has been accepted into the Harford Community College Nursing Program. A 300-500 word essay explaining the student’s goals for a career in nursing and describing the reason for entering the nursing field as well as two letters of recommendation from a faculty member are required with the application. The recipient must have graduated from high school within the past five years. National Science Foundation S-STEM Scholarship
The NSF S-STEM Scholarship (Grant #1643498) supports high achieving, full-time students majoring in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental science, environmental technology, mathematics or physics. The scholarship funds up to $10,000 annually based on financial need and a $2,000 stipend for undergraduate research. Scholars are assigned a faculty mentor and participate in cohort activities on career/academic planning, networking, resume preparation, life skills, and applying for research-based experiences.

NMTC Warren Mullins Scholarship
Warren Mullins has been the long-term President of the Northeastern Maryland Technology Council (1998-2009), Vice President of Battelle, and a guiding force in our technology community. Throughout his career, he strongly advocated for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education as the key component in strengthening our nation in the global marketplace. In Warren's honor, the NMTC has funded a $1,000 annual scholarship to reward high school students in pursuing a college STEM education. Scholarships are open to all STEM high school seniors in Harford County and are awarded based on their meeting the College's internal criteria and the determination of the NMTC scholarship selection committee. The following criteria is also to be included: Academic record verified by transcript, education recommendation, personal statement, and list of STEM-related activities that demonstrate a true commitment to the pursuit of a STEM college track as identified in a written essay.* Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident and reside in Harford County. *The typed essay of approximately 400 words will describe the applicant's interests and experience relative to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. President Chiesi Excellence in Performing Arts
This award was created to honor the contributions of Claudia E. Chiesi, Ph.D., the sixth President of Harford Community College (1995-2004). A cash award(s) will be presented annually to a graduating Harford Community College student(s) who has demonstrated ability in theater, music and/or dance. A currently enrolled student(s) who has met all requirements for May graduation or a student who graduated in August or December is eligible. The student(s) must have demonstrated ability in public recitals or stage presentation; qualifying areas include theater, dance and/or music and associated activities such as composition, costume and technical design. An interview and an audition are required, citing specific ability and depth of understanding in music, theater or dance. Students do not need to be enrolled in HCC courses for dance, theater or music. Anyone may nominate students for this award or students can self-nominate in writing. Preference will be given to applicants who have a GPA higher than the minimum 3.25 and/or an applicant with recent service to the community through the arts and/or an applicant who demonstrates ability in multiple areas of the performing arts. PTK Rho Beta Chapter Outstanding Member Scholarship
The Phi Theta Kappa Rho Beta Chapter established two $250 scholarships to provide funding for members of the Rho Beta Chapter that contribute to the mission and values for which Phi Theta Kappa stands. Applicants must be a member of the Rho Beta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing and must submit a 300-500 word essay describing how the student demonstrates excellence in scholarship as well as college and/or community activities. Additionally, applicants must be enrolled in at least six credits for the spring semester. Rhodora Villegas Phillips Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Rhodora Phillips emigrated from the Philippines to the US in 1975. She was a strong advocate of higher education and spent her working years in health care, interrupted for 20 years to raise two children, both of whom have advanced degrees. During her 5 year battle with breast cancer, she was supported and comforted by scores of nurses, many of whom were graduates of the HCC nursing program. Based on funds available, an annual scholarship is established by her family to remember her life and to thank those nurses who guided her through a most difficult journey which ended in June, 2018. The scholarship is designated for a second year student in the nursing program. First preference is given to students of Filipino descent. Scholarship recipient(s) are chosen by the Nursing Scholarship Awards Committee.

The Route 40 Business Association provides a $1,500 scholarship to a returning adult student who has completed 6 credits with at least a 3.0 GPA and resides along the Route 40 corridor. (Aberdeen, Abingdon, Belcamp, Edgewood, Havre de Grace or Joppa) The applicant must be pursuing a major in Business or state a business related career goal.

Route 40 Business Association Scholarship
The Route 40 Business Association provides a $1,500 scholarship to a student who has graduated high school within the last 5 years and is planning to attend Harford Community College. Applicants must be graduating from a Route 40 High School, (Aberdeen, Edgewood, Havre de Grace or Joppatowne). The applicant must be pursuing a major in Business or state a business related career goal.

Ruritan Club of Churchville Scholarship
The Ruritan Club of Churchville awards an annual $500 scholarship to students involved in community service activities. The scholarship is open to current and former graduates of the high schools listed in the selection criteria. Applicants must submit an essay regarding their service to the community. Recipients are required to send a thank you note of appreciation as well as attend a Ruritan Club of Churchville meeting.

Ruritan Club of Churchville Scholarship for GED Graduates
The Ruritan Club of Churchville awards an annual $500 scholarship/Grant to Harford County residents who have completed a GED program. Applicants must submit an essay describing their involvement in community service and how they will use their post-secondary education to achieve their life goals. Recipients are required to send a thank you note of appreciation to the Churchville Ruritan Club as well as attend a Ruritan meeting. Recipient must be enrolled in a degree program or a non credit workforce training certificate program.

Ruth, Mary & Irene Memorial Nursing Scholarship
A annual scholarship award of $7,500 for the full program period (either 4 semesters or 18 month program) has been established for Harford students enrolled in the Nursing AS program of study. The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Ruth Schwalm, Mary Shaeffer and Irene Guinivan. These three nurses, all from the same family, collectively devoted over 100 years of their lives to the care of their patients and the education of nursing students. The scholarship recipient must maintain a 2.50+ GPA in the nursing program in order to receive consecutive term/semester funding. Final selection will be made by the Nursing Scholarship Committee.

S. Shane Diggin Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established at HCC in 2013 by Jack and Claudette Diggin in loving memory of their son, Shane Diggin. Shane was a 1987 graduate of Bel Air High School who died in an automobile accident one month after his graduation. Shane loved music and wanted to train for a career in radio. He was reared in a single-parent household and this scholarship was developed to help other students who are from single parent homes attain their educational goals. An annual $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a qualifying Bel air High School senior.

Sharon Mack Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Sharon L. Mack, this scholarship provides an annual award of $500 to a student enrolled in the HCC Nursing Program. Funds may be used for any purpose related to education. Recipient will be chosen by the Harford Community College Academic Honors and Scholarship Committee.

Spalding Nursing Scholarship/Memorial Endowment
This endowment was established in memory of Charles and Adalene Spalding to honor the Nursing Department. These awards will assist in costs incurred from nursing expenses that do not include tuition/fees or books. Awards are based on fund availability.

Stancill Wulkow Endowment
This endowment was created by the Terry and Regina Stancill family in the spirit of making an education available and possible. The family’s first preference is that this endowment will enable single, nontraditional-aged women to pursue their dreams regardless of the obstacles that may stand in the way. Award is based on fund availability with the potential to include full tuition, fees, books and childcare expenses. Applicant must be head-of-household or caretaker or guardian of other family members. Applicants may be asked to interview with the donor. Final recipient will be selected by donor.

Stanley A. Kollar Research Scholarship
The Stanley A. Kollar Research Scholarship supports students interested in engaging in undergraduate research through an independent study, cooperative education, internship or special topics course with a focus on science research. Scholarships of up to $500 per student to cover the cost of tuition and fees will be awarded. Recipients must have completed 12 credits at Harford Community College. REQUIRES SPECIAL APPLICATION. Application may be obtained by contacting Associate Professor Tami Imbierowicz in the STEM Division. Final selection will be made by the STEM Scholarship Committee. Recipient is required to submit a research plan developed with a faculty mentor in biology or environmental science.

Stephen M. Wright Political Science Scholarship
This $500 annual scholarship was established in memory of Stephen M. Wright. Mr. Wright was characterized by those who knew him as a hard worker, loving father, and a man committed to the community. Candidates for this scholarship must be enrolled in the Political Science program of study. A 500-word essay on the most influential political figure in the last fifty years is required with the application.

T. Deanne Waite Memorial Endowment
This scholarship was established by Wendy Bohdel and Marcie Hyman in memory of their mother, T. Deanne Waite, former Harford Community College Registrar. The awards amounts may vary, but can be up to $1,000 for tuition, fees and books per academic year. Final selection is made by the donors.

TFC Joseph T. Lanzi Law Enforcement Scholarship
The Maryland Troopers Association, Lodge 96 established this scholarship in memory of TFC Joseph T. Lanzi. Two $500 awards per year are awarded to students who have the desire to serve the community.

The Environmental Science Scholarship
The Environmental Science Scholarship is a $1,500 award that will be given to a second year student in the Environmental Science AS program. The student must submit a 250-word essay, which includes their reason for choosing Environmental Science as their field of study, and their professional goals. Preference will be given to a student who intends to transfer to a four-year institution and major in an environmentally-related curriculum. Final selection will be made by the donor.

This endowed scholarship was established by Russell and Kimberly Hurd, in loving memory of their daughter, Heather Hurd. The number of scholarships and award amounts vary depending on fund availability. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in the environmental science program of study.

The Kelly Group, on behalf of their clients, awards up to three $500 scholarships per year. First preference will be given to a Kelly Group employee or children or grandchildren of employees of The Kelly Group. The final selection will be made by The Kelly Group.

The Ralph & Joyce Hilsher Nursing Scholarship
Ralph and Joyce Hilsher established this annual $2,000 award to assist two students enrolled in the HCC Nursing Program. The scholarship is a tribute to the members of their family who placed great emphasis on education and instilled values of preserverance, dedication and life-long learning. The award covers tuition, fees, book, supplies, uniforms and equipment. Final selection is made by the Nursing Scholarship Committee.

The UM Upper Chesapeake Health Medical Staff Scholarship sponsors three $1,000 scholarships. Recipient must be a Harford or Cecil County resident.

Walter W. Enderlein Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established through a bequest, in memory of Walter W. Enderlein to provide scholarships to deserving Harford Community College students. Several awards are made each academic year depending upon the availability of funds.

Wason Family Scholarship
Four scholarships will be awarded annually. Two $1,000 awards for tuition and fees and two $500 book scholarships will be awarded. For one of the scholarships, preference will be given to an international student.

Weiping Qin Freedom Scholarship
This annual scholarship is created to acknowledge the service and support of freedom around the world. First preference is given to Harford students who display leadership qualities and serve in the SGA, Senators, Registered Student Organizations (RSO), Emerging Leaders and Alternative Break programs. Also students who have served in the military will also be considered.

Based on funds available, an annual book scholarship is awarded each year in memory of Senator William H. Amoss.
