Hello! I am Claudia Moessinger Brown, a visiting professor in Visual, Performing, and Applied Arts division at Harford Community College. I am native to rural Harford County and a graduate of North Harford High School. I have a Master of Arts Degree in Contemporary Communication from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In addition, I am a graduate of the Accelerated Certification in Teaching Program from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

Since 2002, I have taught a variety of courses at Harford Community College, including Visual and Performing Arts and Writing for the College Newspaper. Before coming to HCC, I taught at Perry Hall High School for two years and at Holy Spirit Middle School in Baltimore City for two years. My professional writing experience includes freelance writing for The Baltimore Sun, employment as an Associate Producer at WBAL Channel 11 News, and multiple contributions to a skating magazine, Ice Chronicles. A background in musical theater has also inspired choreography for numerous ice shows in the Baltimore area.

In my free time, I enjoy figure skating, musical theater, and reading non-fiction. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, Jason, and our daughter, Tacy. We share our log home with the rest of our family: our dog, Rumi, and our cats: Grace, Possum, Delia, Whitey, and P.Kitty.

I enjoy sharing my passion for journalism and the arts with my students, and I encourage any interested student to contact me with questions.
