Certified Lifeguard

Min. $11.15 per Hour
Hourly Rate Based on Experience and Additonal Certifications

RESPONSIBILITIES: Certified Lifeguards assure the safety and protection of each patron at the College's swimming facility, resolve customer problems, monitor pool and surrounding areas for cleanliness and safety, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work hours will be scheduled Mondays to Fridays, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.  Final work schedules will be determined by the supervisor. 

The hours of part-time, as-needed employees are limited to a total of less than 500 hours in each fiscal year (July 1 June 30).


Candidates must possess a nationally recognized lifeguard certification at the time of hire.

The minimum age of 18 is required for all positions with HCC, except for limited areas where pre-approved exceptions may apply.  The certified lifeguard position currently qualifies for the minimum hiring age of 16 with an MDLLR work permit for minors.

Any offer of employment at Harford Community College is contingent upon the results of a mandatory background screening.  Employees must submit within 30 days of hire official transcripts of all degrees earned.
