I Forgot my Password

Test Your Account with HCC WebMail

If you have tried resetting your password without any luck, try logging directly into your HCC email account by clicking this link. You will enter the same username & password combination as you would with OwlNet.

  • If you are unable to login to HCC Webmail as well, you may have an account that needs to be setup by clicking here.
  • If you are able to login to your HCC Webmail account but unable to login to OwlNet using the same credentials, please call our HCC Help Desk at 443-412-2477 and select option #3.

I Forgot my Username

Your HCC username is the same as your HCC email address. So if your HCC email address is johndoe4@harford.edu, then your HCC username would be johndoe4. If you still do not know your HCC username, then please call our HCC Help Desk at 443-412-2477 and select option #3.

My Account is Disabled

There are two main scenarios in which your OwlNet account can become disabled.

  1. You have attempted to login 3 times unsuccessfully.
    In this scenario you will need to wait 10 minutes for the temporary hold on your account to expire, and then try logging in again
    (Click Here to reset your password).

  2. You have not logged into OwlNet in over 6 months
    In this scenario you will need to call our HCC Help Desk at 443-412-2477 and select option #3, and we will need to re-enable your account.

Change your HCC password

Please note the following policies for your new HCC password:

By October 8th, 2012 you will be required to change your password using the following rules:
1. Must at least 8 characters long
2. Must contain alphabetic and numeric characters with at least one numeric character
3. Must not contain first name, last name, telephone number, e-mail address, social security number, or username
4. Must not be the word “password” or dictionary words
5. Must not contain consecutive numbers, such as “12345”
6. Must be treated as confidential information
7. Must not be the same as your last three passwords

I'm Not Sure if I'm a New User

You are most likely a New User if you have never logged into OwlNet, HCC Email or a computer on campus
AND

1. Have taken a credit course at HCC within the past 3 semesters
OR
2. Have applied and been accepted as a credit student for an upcoming semester

Do I Have an Active OwlNet Account?

All students who have taken a credit course in the last 3 semesters will have an active OwlNet account. Also, all faculty, staff, administrators at Harford Community College have OwlNet accounts.

How to use OwlNet in Internet Explorer 9

If you are using Internet Explorer 9 and you see a blank page or missing images when trying to view the OwlNet Login page, please refer to the steps in the link below to correct the issue:

I Keep Getting a Session Expired message

If you are trying to access the OwlNet login page and you are seeing a Session Expired message, try the following steps below:

  • Close all of your Internet Browsers, re-open on and try accessing http://owlnet.harford.edu

  • Reboot your Computer

  • Clear our your Browser Cache
    Depending on which Internet Browser and version you are using these steps can vary greatly. For instructions on how to clear your browser cache, you can go to the following site http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache

I Need Additional Help Logging into OwlNet

If you have attempted to setup your account or reset your password and still cannot login to OwlNet, please contact our Help Desk at 443-412-2477 and select option #3.

When is OwlNet Unavailable?

OwlNet is taken down every morning from 12:10 AM to 12:35 AM for backups and routine maintenance.
